There is nothing Completely wrong with the Muslim reciting ruqyah for himself. That's permissible; without a doubt it is a superb Sunnah, with the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) recited ruqyah for himself, and many of his Companions recited ruqyah for them selves.
